STAESA has recently started a Coach in Africa programme that will allow volunteers to work with youth sports teams and coach them. Since this programme is still in it's infancy and only available in two countries, so far, please email us with your questions about placements.
This project hosts about 32 to 48 kids aged between 8 and 24 years old. Volunteers will train the boys and girls in football and basketball. The aim of the project is to create a team, get sports kits, and formulate strategies to get the boys and girls into the national teams. You will be working with national sports councils to raise the standard of the teams in the village so that they may be able to compete with other teams. This project is lots of fun for everyone involved, and it will unify the children of the community by teaching them to work together. The programme may also include building a football field and a basketball court in some communities.
