This is very interesting and very unique programme where volunteers are heard on air nationally and in the newspapers. For many, this is a once in a lifetime experience! If you are a journalist or inspiring to become one, this is the programme for you.
The programme includes assisting in news broadcasting, radio talk show, and interviewing. Having the opportunity to meet and talk with local celebrities and other volunteers on air makes the programme lovely and full of fun, while making you feel at home. You will be scheduled for all the departments in the radio station to enable you have a feel of what's happening in all areas. The programme is great when combined with teaching and orphanage programmes.
In Ghana, volunteers get to work in radio stations like Holy FM, and write for newspapers like the Catholic Standard. STAESA takes care of the placements and ensures that every volunteer gets the full Ghanaian media experience.
Or, in Togo, volunteers get the opportunity to work with a variety newspapers and radio stations in Lomé. Not only does the programme expose volunteers to the unique nature of media work in Togo, it also gives them an opportunity to gain more experience in programming, production, recording, research, reporting and many more as part of the activities on the programme.
